This graph shows the predicted energy contribution of the diesel generator, PV array and battery storage to the MED-1 microgrid power system using a model with assumptions. The data were simulated using the HOMER microgrid optimization model using actual granular load data measured using a Microgrid Assessment Tool during the last deployment of the MED-1 unit.

A 25kW PV array, (120) 1320AHr batteries and 50kW power converter were used in the model run shown. The bars show the energy contribution for each time period and the chart shows the dynamic nature of microgrid operation. This is only preliminary information and should be independently reviewed before making any design plans. There were four scenarios modeled and and a sensitivity analysis was run for different sized arrays.
